Why are proteins so important for the body?
Proteins are the building blocks of all our cells and are essential for healthy hair, skin and nails. However, the body cannot produce proteins itself. It is therefore dependent on a protein supply through food.
Protein is also the substance that makes up muscle tissue. That is why a protein-rich diet is essential, especially for people who do a lot of sport.

What sources of protein are contained in the bars?
- The main ingredients of the muesli bars are the Verival Grain Free Sport Protein Muesli Almond-Fig from the Verival Sport range. This contains a variety of vegan protein sources, such as sunflower seeds, almonds, cashew nuts, pumpkin seeds, hazelnuts, linseeds and sesame seeds. Nuts and seeds are among the best vegetable sources of protein.
- In addition to the plant-based protein sources, the bars also contain quark (a type of low-fat cottage cheese). This is also a very effective source of protein.
Are the bars sugar-free?
We have completely avoided using any refined sugars in this recipe. The bars taste slightly sour due to the currants in the muesli and the quark. The added maple syrup makes it a little sweeter and is a healthier alternative to sugar. This means that the bars are free from refined sugars.

Are the bars suitable for a gluten-free diet?
The Verival Grain Free Sport Protein Muesli Almond-Fig is gluten-free and no gluten (e.g. in the form of flour) is added to this recipe. This muesli bar is therefore suitable for a low-gluten or gluten-free diet.
What is the best way to store the bars?
Ideally, the bars should be stored in a cool place, otherwise the added quark would cause them to spoil more quickly. So it's best to put them in an airtight storage box and put them in the fridge. They will keep there for about 3 to 4 days.
Can I also freeze the bars?
Of course, you can also prepare the bars in advance by simply freezing them after baking and cooling. They will thaw at room temperature in just a few hours, giving you a healthy source of protein for breakfast or for on the go.
